I've never heard such optimistic talk about automotive performance coming from a California resident. Here's my relatively irrelevant two cents: It's great that the horsepower wars have been reignited, and advances in engine management will allow today's engines to make power, yet be considered "efficient." However, not everyone wants to go spend $50k+ on one of today's "muscle cars," because while getting your hands on 500hp may be that easy, some appreciate the time, effort and money they put into an engine build to make that kind of power, while gaining knowledge and experience in the process. To me, that satisfaction and sense of accomplishment would be worth far more than any high-horsepower car on the market today. However, modifying a car to make big power, while still trying to appease the emissions standards that have been established by the "radical environmentalists" can tie the hands of true automotive enthusiasts behind their backs, ESPECIALLY in California. I doubt you share the same freedoms in automotive expression there than the rest of the country does. And to me, the freedom of expression through your car, even if it's putting a fart can on a Civic, is much more important than saving a fee trees or a rare raccoon species. So, anyway, even though "the people thru government regulation" insisted on cleaner air, better fuel economy and all that good stuff, it's the same type of whiny, tree-hugging fags that are destroying what used to be known as "hot rodding" in that era of "4 barrel behemoths," and era which I hope will never die.
